Dr. Elizabeth Yi, DVM, DACVECC
Dr. Elizabeth Yi earned her DVM at Western University of Health Sciences in 2013. Following graduation, she completed a rotating small animal medical surgery internship at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center in San Diego, CA. She was accepted to the VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center’s Emergency and Critical Care Residency Program and completed her training in July 2017. She became board certified in Emergency and Critical Care in September 2017.
Her focus is emergency and critical care medicine and enjoys the fast pace and challenging cases that come into the ER. Dr Yi’s primary goal is to provide the best care possible for her patients, while providing compassionate care and service during stressful and difficult situations to her clients.
Dr. Eileen Wong, DVM, DACVECC
Dr. Wong graduated from UC Davis in 2014, after which she did a rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles. During her internship, she developed an interest in Emergency and Critical Care, and thus pursued an Emergency Critical Care residency at the University of Georgia. With a passion for pathophysiology, Dr. Wong is particularly interested in pulmonary physiology, mechanical ventilation, acid/base physiology, and electrolyte disorders. Dr. Wong has a tri-pawed pittie named Tater and two cats, Watson and Cricket. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, cooking, and of course, eating all the tasty cuisine that LA has to offer.
Dr. Linda Ahn, DVM, Emergency
Dr. Ahn Wong is a Los Angeles native. She attended Western University of Health Sciences and obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She did a small animal 1-year rotating internship through Animal Specialty Group, where she stayed on to be an emergency veterinarian. Dr. Ahn joined MASH’s emergency team in April 2017. She has three dogs and one crested gecko. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Jasmine Amini, DVM, Emergency
Dr. Jasmine Amini grew up in the Boston area and graduated with a BA in International Relations from Tufts University. After a brief stint in finance she went back to school to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Dr. Amini graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She competed two internships in Emergency/Critical Care medicine and moved to California in 2009. She returned to Los Angeles after living in the Bay Area and is gladly trading the fog for the sunshine.
Outside of work, she loves trying new activities and eating unique foods. Dr. Amini and her husband live with two small fluffy dogs and three fluffy cats.
Dr. Patrick Kirk, DVM, Emergency
Dr. Kirk was born in Philadelphia, PA but was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Kirk earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida State University and earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2013. He did a rotating internship with VCA California Veterinary Specialists prior to staying on as an emergency veterinarian for the past 7 years. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, his dog Wylie and his cat Dot.
Dr. Natalie Fording, DVM, Emergency
Dr. Natalie Fording was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University in 2008 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 2012. After graduation, she moved to Brooklyn, NY and completed a year-long small animal rotating internship at Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group. Following her internship, Dr. Fording moved to Los Angeles and has focused solely on emergency medicine. She joined the MASH emergency and critical care team in October 2018.
Dr. Fording enjoys hiking, traveling, any Pittsburgh sports team, and spending time with her husband, two dogs, Tucker and Panda, and cat, Izzy.
Dr. Diana Jacinto, MS, DVM, Emergency
Dr. Jacinto is a Los Angeles native. She has a Master’s in Biology with a marine biology focus. She attended Western University of Health Sciences and obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She did a small animal rotating internship at VCA West LA. Dr. Jacinto joined MASH’s emergency team in August 2019. Dr. Jacinto has a one-eyed cat named Donut. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, tending to her house plants, and hanging out with her cat.
Dr. Alexis Kotelko, DVM, Emergency
Dr. Kotelko attended UC Davis for both undergrad and veterinary school, attaining her degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She practiced as a general practitioner in the CA Central Coast for the first two years out of vet school, then moved back to the Los Angeles area, where she grew up, to take on the challenge of overnight emergency medicine. Her interests include trauma and surgery and she loves the diversity of cases seen with emergency medicine. During her time off, she loves to hang out with her 3 cats (Neville and Stevie), watch Hockey (Go Kings!!), play video games, go to concerts, and enjoy the outdoors.
Dr. Belinda Abbott, DVM, Emergency
Kristine was born in New Jersey but grew up in the San Fernando Valley and Simi Valleys. Kristine has been working in the veterinary field since 1994. She is an RVT and just recently got her VTS in emergency and critical care in 2019. She joined the MASH emergency and critical care team in January 2020. Her goals are to use her knowledge and skill to minimize patient fear and maximize patient comfort. She also wants to teach all that encompasses emergency and especially critical care to the MASH emergency team. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, go to the beach and be outdoors, also enjoy good food and wine.
Jonathan, RVT, VTS (ECC), Shift Lead
Jonathan started working in veterinary medicine as an assistant in general practice in 1992 followed by an emergency clinic 6 years later where he worked for 16 yrs. He attained his credentials as an Registered Veterinary Technician in California in 2006 with the intent to also specialize in Emergency and Critical Care. In 2007 he began working at a 24hr specialty practice in Orange County in an effort to gain the necessary knowledge and experience to apply to the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians (AVECCT). He gained further experience by working with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), a mode of dialysis for Acute Kidney Injury, and long term therapeutic mechanical ventilation. His interests include, but are not limited to, acid/base, advanced anesthesia/analgesia, mechanical ventilation, shock and transfusion medicine. Following several years of study, he passed his boards in 2010, achieving his Veterinary Technician Specialty in Emergency and Critical Care, VTS (ECC).
Jonathan has volunteered his time as a member of the AVECCT Examination and Mentoring Committees and has also served on the Appeals Committee. He has authored and contributed a chapter on ocular emergencies in The Technicians Manual for Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care. Jonathan has lectured nationally and locally and attends continuing education conferences on a yearly basis. He is also certified in Veterinary CPR: Basic Life Support. Jonathan lives in Los Angeles with his three dogs and four cats. Much of his free time is spent going to concerts, museums, the beach and simply just relaxing with a good book.
Noemi, RVT, Shift Lead
Noemi was born in Los Angeles and raised in Baldwin Park CA. She graduated in 2017 from the Animal Health Science Program at Cal Poly Pomona and received her Bachelors in Animal Health Science. She obtained her RVT license a few months after graduating. She has been in the veterinary field since 2014 and has worked in small animal practice and most recently spent the last few years in emergency and critical care where she found her passion in emergency medicine. She has 2 tortoiseshell cats named Mimosa and Midori, a chihuahua named Roman and a miniature poodle named Barbie. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, working out and binge watch shows on Netflix.
Ryleigh, RVT, Shift Lead
Ryleigh was born in Michigan, and after living in Austin, Texas, moved to Los Angeles in 2021. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2013. Ryleigh has worked her way up from being a receptionist to technician assistant to RVT. She has worked in both general practice and specialty/emergency veterinary medicine. She has an Associated of Applied Science Veterinary Technician from Lone Star College. Her goal is to get her VTS in emergency and critical care. When not working, Ryleigh likes to go to the beach, hike, work out, cook, and craft.
Cesar, RVT, Shift Lead
Cesar was born and raised in San Bernardino, CA. Cesar started volunteering with The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley when he was 16 years old but has been working in the veterinary field since 2011. He has worked at a high volume spay/neuter clinic, general practice, and emergency. Cesar joined the MASH emergency team in September 2020. Cesar has a 170-pound Saint Bernard named Sully, a Chihuahua named Tiki, and a DSH named Thomas. When not working, Cesar likes going on road trips and listening to Rihanna. He also enjoys hiking and sight seeing.
Chelsea, Veterinary Assistant, Shift Lead
Chelsea was born and raised in Los Angeles. Chelsea has been working in veterinary field since 2011. Before joining the MASH team, she worked with avian and exotics. Chelsea’s goal is to get her RVT license and get her VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialty) in emergency and critical care. She has a passion for wolf conservation efforts and has been volunteering at APEX Protection Project for 9 years caring for the wolf-dog pack. She has a tortoise named JB, and a dog named Bullet. In her spare time, Chelsea likes to play basketball, travel and work out.
Angie, Veterinary Assistant, Shift Lead
Angie was born and raised in New York. She moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago because she has always loved the weather here and for a new experience. She has been in the veterinary field for 12 years. Angie is going to obtain her RVT soon and her goal is to become a lead/manage a department. She has 2 dogs, a Pit bull named Jordan, and a Maltipoo named Logan. She also has 2 cats, an 18-year-old named Angel and a 2-year old named Rogue. Angie loves the outdoors, camping, watching sports, and going to music concerts.
Lily, Veterinary Assistant, Shift Lead
Lily was born in Mexico City and moved to California when she was 6 years old. She earned a degree in Biochemistry from the University of California in Santa Barbara. She worked five years in pharmaceutical and oncological research before transitioning to the veterinary field in 2008. She has four cats named Finn the Human, Marceline the Vampire Queen, Floppety Flop (who is a polydactyl) and Mousey. She also has two dogs named Murphy and Mission Fett. Lily is currently studying for the VTNE and would like to use her RVT to teach at a technical college while volunteering in wildlife preservation.
Stephanie, Veterinary Assistant, Triage Assistant Supervisor
Stephanie was born and raised in Los Angeles. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2000. She started out in general practice veterinary medicine but found that her passion was in emergency medicine. Stephanie joined the MASH emergency team in February 2019. Her goal is to become a registered veterinary technician. She has a 4-year-old Chiweenie named Jelly. She also enjoys rehabbing wildlife and currently has a squirrel named Lucky. When she has free time, she likes to be in nature and hike in the surrounding LA mountains. She also enjoys being with friends and family.
Lorraine was born and raised in Carson, CA. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2010. She started out as a Technician Assistant in general practice and then obtained her RVT and has worked in emergency and internal medicine. Her goal is to continue to grow in the veterinary field in both knowledge, practice, and skill. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Cal State Dominguez Hills. She has 2 mixed breed dogs Mimi and Boogy. She also has several black cats. In her free time, she likes outdoor activities like hiking, swimming, and running, as well as, eating and relaxing with her furry kids.
China was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2010. She has worked her way up from a receptionist to an RVT. She has a AS in Veterinary Technology from Pierce College. She joined the MASH emergency team in November 2020. Her goals are to become an event planner and possibly go back to school for pharmacology. China has a long-haired Chihuahua named Bob and a DSH named Binti. In her free time, she likes to event plan and roller skate.
Claudia is from New Mexico and is new to the Los Angeles area. She has worked in the veterinary field for two years as a veterinary assistant and RVT in Emergency. Her goals are to learn as much as possible and be a great RVT. Claudia joined the MASH Emergency department in 2021 as RVT. Claudia has two cats: a boy named Guero and a girl named Tiny. When she has time to herself, she likes to spend it with her family.
Lisa has lived in Southern California her whole life and has worked in the veterinary field over 23 years! She has worked in GP and ER as well as reception, as a TA, and an RVT. She joined the Mash Emergency team in 2021 as RVT. She has a Bachelor's in Business with focus on Organizational Leadership. She has four dogs that are all mixes named Shaggy, Ginger, Salt, and Pepper; as well as two cats named Michonne and Darryl. In her spare time, Lisa likes to go for hikes, go to the beach, read, and watch movies.

In her free time, she likes to watch true crime shows, try different restaurants and spend time with her cats.

Gary was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years. Gary has a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. Gary loves what he does and wants to continue working in the veterinary field especially in emergency medicine. He has a Chihuahua cross named Lala, a Savannah cat named Afeni, and a Bengal cat named Walkenstien. When not working, you can find Gary fishing.
Thelma, Veterinary Assistant
Thelma is originally from El Salvador but moved to Los Angeles when she was 6 years old. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2013 as a doctor’s assistant and a technician assistant. She joined the MASH Emergency team in March 2020. Thelma is currently working on obtaining her RVT from Penn Foster. After getting her RVT she would like to continue to get a bachelor’s degree. She has a Shiba Inu named Kenji and a Poodle mix named Fluffy. When not working, she loves partaking in outdoor activities: hiking, camping, rock climbing, etc. She also likes to spend time with family and friends, as well as, hang out with her pets and find delicious vegan foods to eat.
Cristina, Veterinary Assistant
Cristina was born and raised in Los Angeles, California (Go Dodgers!). She has been working in the veterinary field since 2017. She has worked as a receptionist and veterinary technician assistant in general practice and in emergency. She is super excited to join the MASH emergency team and advance her emergency skills. Her goal is to obtain her RVT and get into zoo/wildlife medicine at either the LA Zoo or the Zoological Department. Cristina has two Associate degrees, one in Veterinary Technology and one in Social Science. She has a Maltese cross named Lucy and a Ball Python named Coco. When Cristina is not working, she is out hiking chasing waterfalls, running along the beach, checking out new coffee shops, hanging out with her family for game nights, and binge watching The Office on Netflix repeatedly.
Britany, Veterinary Assistant
Britany was born and raised in Los Angeles. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2014. She has worked reception and veterinary assistant in both general practice and emergency. Her goal is to pass the VTNG and become a RVT very soon! She has a Associates in Animal Sciences from Platt College. She has an American Bulldog named Rusty, a mix named Spike, and a Conure named Pineapple. In her free time, she loves to watch movies and go to the beach.

Ryan has lived in Korea Town, Los Angeles his whole life, up until last year. He has worked in the veterinary field for three years, mostly in general practice. He has experience as a technician assistant, receptionist, and surgical technician. He joined the Emergency department in 2021 as Veterinary Assistant. Ryan plans on being a CVA soon and one day an RVT. He has two cute littermate whippets named Tobi and Lucky. When he's not at work, you can find him driving around taking pictures and exploring.
Valerie, Veterinary Assistant
Valerie has lived in Los Angeles for forty years and has worked in the veterinary field for fourteen years - six in general practice and eight in Emergency/Critical Care. Valerie joined the MASH Emergency Team in 2021 as Veterinary Assistant. On top of her B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Biology from UCR and a degree in Animal Science from MTSAC, she plans obtain her RVT. In her free time, Valerie likes to hunt, hike, bike, paddleboard, and volunteer for "Working Dogs For Warriors"! She has a German short-hair pointer named Indy.
Maryuri, Veterinary Assistant
Maryuri is from Moreno Valley, CA, has lived in Las Vegas, and is now settled in Los Angeles. She has worked in the veterinary field for 11 years as a veterinary technician in ER, IM, and Nephrology. She has a degree in Esthetics, as a Nutrition Coach, and is a certified Personal Trainer. On top of owning a meal prep company, her goals are to own a beauty spa, open a gym / personal training business, and start an animal sanctuary. Maryuri joined the Emergency team in August 2021 as Veterinary Assistant. She has five pets - a pug (Blackbeans), a chihuahua (Precious), a frenchie (Kike), a jack russel (Snoopy), and a tuxedo cat (Kitty). When she isn't running her other two businesses, she likes to hike, play soccer, weightlift, spend time with both of her boys, and read.
Sarai, Veterinary Assistant
Sarai is from San Bernardino and just moved to Los Angeles. During her year working in the veterinary field she has been a receptionist and a vet assistant at a general practice. She would like to become an RVT and specialize in physical therapy. She is joining the MASH ER as our newest VA! Sarai has a Poodle-mix named Sophie and a Terrier-mix named Sadie. In her spare time, she likes to go to concerts and try new food.
Jocelyn, Doctor’s Assistant
Jocelyn is a Southern California native. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2015 as a receptionist in general practice. Jocelyn joined the MASH emergency team in May 2021. Her goal is to become a human registered nurse. She has three cats: Bella, Panda, and Panther; and a dog named Roxy. In her free time, Jocelyn likes to hike, enjoy the beach, and have family nights!
Andrea, Doctor's Assistant
Andrea is from South Central Los Angeles and has worked in the veterinary field for 10 months. She has been a receptionist for all specialties and hopes to get certified as an RVT. She joined MASH as Doctor's Assistant in the ER department! When she has time to herself, she likes to walk her miniature pinscher Zoey, go on hikes, go to the beach, bake, cook, and train in Muay Thai.
Jennifer, Doctor's Assistant
Jennifer has lived in Los Angeles for 30 years. After working in the veterinary field for two years in reception, triage, and general practice + specialty, she joined our Emergency team in 2021 as Doctor's Assistant. She hopes to one day become an RVT or Dispatch. She has a yorkie named Bella, a German shepherd named Bailey, and a Husky named Jake. When she isn't busy, she likes to hike, travel, read, go to the beach, and go to the movies!
Dexter, Doctor's Assistant
Dexter was born in Northern Germany and--as a son of military parents--has lived all over the world. He has been living in Los Angeles for the past 10 years, and has been working in the veterinary field for 10+ years. He has worked in reception and pharmacy as a Doctor's Assistant, and most recently has been working in animal behavior. His goals are to learn continuously and grow his skills. Dexter joined the MASH ER department as Doctor's Assistant in 2021! He aspires to study human psychiatry. He has two cats, March and Persephone. When he isn't at work, he loves absolutely anything involving music, film, art and nature.

Roberto is a Southern California native. This is Roberto’s first time working in the veterinary field and he is excited to start to learn! Roberto joined the MASH emergency team in March 2021. His goal in life is to acquire multiple family rental properties. In his free time, Roberto loves to read personal growth books, he also likes to take car photos and edit them.
David, Technician Assistant
David was born and raised in Rosemead, CA. He has been working in the veterinary field since 2009. He has worked at a veterinary assistant in general practice and emergency medicine. David joined the MASH emergency team in August 2020. His personal goal is to obtain his RVT before his 35th birthday. David has two Pomeranians, Trixie and Mia, and a Chihuahua named Peewee. He also has two cats, a DSH named Sir Martin and a Calico named Apple. When not working, David likes to go hiking, eat and hang out with his family. Much of his time is taken up by being a brand-new dad! Alex says that it is a blessing to have his little one in his life.
Sabrina, Technician Assistant
Sabrina was born and raised in Van Nuys, CA. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2018. She has worked as a receptionist and veterinary assistant in general practice. She joined the MASH emergency team in March 2021. Sabrina's goal is to become an architect. She has two dogs, Pluto and Tiki, and three cats named IPA, Nico, and Cho-Cho. In her free time, she likes to hike, paint, and garden.
Crystal, Technician Assistant
Crystal is from Los Angeles, though she just moved back after living up north for three years. She has worked in the veterinary field for a year and a half as a veterinary assistant in ICU and Emergency. She has two Associates, one in Natural Sciences and the other in Social and Behavioral Sciences. She also just recently graduated from CSU Monterey Bay with a B.S. in Biology. While ironically she has never had a dog or cat as a pet, her goal is to become a veterinarian. Crystal joined the MASH Emergency team as Technician Assistant. In her free time, she like hiking, reading, and trying new places to eat.
