TAYLOR ST. ONGE
MSW, APSW, TIC, EOLD
Veterinary Social Worker
Taylor always knew she wanted to work in a helping profession, but wasn’t always quite sure what that would look like. Growing up in a house full of nurses, Taylor knew early on that path wasn’t for her. During undergrad, Taylor discovered the holistic field of social work, and knew that was where her passion could find its home.
Taylor attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, and completed her internship at Seasons Hospice where she worked to provide comfort and support to hospice patients and their families. Following this, Taylor finished her Master’s degree in Social Work, alongside a Certificate in Trauma-Informed Care, also from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She completed a year-long veterinary social work internship with Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was hired on as a full-time veterinary social worker upon her graduation. After maintaining the Social Work program at Lakeshore for three years, Taylor moved down to Illinois, where she built the Veterinary Social Work Program for the Premier Veterinary Group hospital market within Grayslake, Chicago, & Orland Park over the course of two-and-a-half years. Prior to moving out to California, Taylor spent a year working as a social worker for an inpatient human hospice unit in Milwaukee.
Taylor has extensive experience dealing with grief and loss, quality of life discussions, emotionally charged situations, associate wellness, and supervising social work students. She joined MASH in January of 2026 to continue managing our established Veterinary Social Work program. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her partner and their two dogs (Bertie & Gordy) and four cats (Basilton, Butters, Gru, & Valkyrie). To better care for our clients, Taylor practices self care in her free time through writing, creating fiber art, water coloring, reading, and cooking/baking.
