Physical Rehabilitation
MASH is dedicated to enhancing your pet’s quality of life through physical rehabilitation, helping them feel better after surgery, an accident, or any other condition requiring rehabilitation. If you’ve ever had surgery or experienced a serious injury, you know just how important physical therapy is to your healing process. The same is true for your pet! In recent years, the benefits of rehabilitation for pets have become more widely recognized and can greatly aid in your best friend’s recovery. Some of these benefits include reducing pain, strengthening muscles, and speeding up the overall recovery process.
While there are a variety of techniques available depending on the circumstances, here are a few that we provide:
Acupuncture – This treatment can be highly beneficial for both small and large pets, targeting a variety of conditions. These include arthritis, intervertebral disk disease, traumatic nerve injury, feline asthma, lick granulomas, allergic dermatitis, diarrhea, sore backs, facial paralysis, heaves, nonsurgical colic, and more.
Cold Laser Therapy – Depending on the area and size being treated, this laser therapy can be completed in as little as three minutes. Cold laser therapy helps with chronic pain, relieves acute pain from trauma, stimulates the healing of damaged tissue, and more.
Exercises – At our animal hospital, our professionals diagnose your pet’s issues and recommend specific exercises to aid in their recovery. These exercises may include passive range of motion, the use of balance boards, physio-balls, stairs, and more.
