The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of veterinary technician experience in oncology and chemotherapy administration. · A nutrition department coordinator is responsible for streamlining nutrition service department operations. File documentation requires basic typing skills, a fundamental knowledge of the alphabet, thoroughness, and neatness. Client Relations

Client Relations also includes, but is not limited to:

· medical call-backs,

· calling clients to inform them of basic radiology/lab results,

· creating and presenting doctor approved treatment plans to clients,

· ensuring the treatment plans are signed with a proper code of resuscitation and making sure it is given to reception to scan into the patient’s file.

· Doctor’s assistants must also ensure patient discharge instructions are signed by the client and given to reception to scan into the patient’s file.

Typical Responsibilities:

· Client communication

· Client coordination

· Assisting the nutritionist with physical exams

· Performing diagnostic lab work for patients

· Sending out samples to the diagnostic laboratories

· Going over diets and plans with clients over the phone.

Requirements:

· 3-5 Years of veterinary experience (specialty experience is a plus)

· Excellent organizational, analytical and customer service skills.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficient with MS Word and Excel.

We are looking for a friendly, qualified veterinary technician to join our internal medicine team. MASH is a new specialty and emergency animal hospital that opened in 2017. We offer specialty and emergency veterinary services and have specialty veterinarians in oncology, dentistry, nutrition, surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, and emergency and critical care. MASH is a newly-constructed hospital housing new surgery suites, appointment rooms, treatment areas, and state-of-the-art equipment. MASH is eager to provide the Hollywood and surrounding Los Angeles community with the highest quality specialty and emergency veterinary medicine.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of veterinary technician experience with oncology or internal medicine experience a plus. Candidates should be able to work under busy schedules and close quarters. Candidates should also be comfortable discussing medications, treatments, and estimates with clients, as well as following up with their inquiries. Candidates should be professional, friendly, courteous, and be able to multi-task. Candidates should have good computer and organizational skills, with knowledge of Cornerstone a big plus. The oncology department’s schedule is Wednesday – Saturday, with working Saturdays a must.

Expected abilities

  • IV Catheter placement and blood draw (including jugular)
  • patient restraint (including felines) for ultrasound, radiographs, venipuncture, and chemotherapy administration
  • Medically able to take radiographs (no medical condition barring radiology)
  • Medically able to safely handle chemotherapy drugs.
  • Physically able and WILLING TO lift up to 40 lbs.
  • able to perform medical math (basic algebra)
  • Working Saturdays is a must, as well as being able to work overtime on occasion.
  • Cleaning the department / laundry
  • Know normal vital signs and basic anatomy of canines and felines
  • Able to work in close quarters
  • Confident communication skills with clients and coworkers

Responsibilities

  • Stocking and cleaning the department

  • Creating and presenting estimates and protocols of clients from doctor’s plan
  • Work with Department Manager in developing SOPs for safe handling and administration of chemotherapy drugs
  • Assisting clients with questions about their pets: prescriptions, side effects, chemotherapy protocols, and estimates.
